Rape accused acquitted
A local court has acquitted Nishant of Ram Darbar in a rape case. It was registered on September 15, 2021 on the complaint of a woman who alleged that the accused raped her by promising to marry her.
She said that she knew the accused for more than six years and was shocked to know that he got engaged to another girl and when she approached him, he not only refused to marry her, but also threatened her.
Kailash Chander was the counsel of the accused.
After hearing the arguments, Yashika, Judge, fast track special court, acquitted the accused of the charges. She said that what was a consensual relationship between the parties in the initial stages could not be given colour of criminality when the said relationship did not fructify into a marital relationship.
