Chandigarh, March 3
A blistering half-century by Ravi Inder helped Chandigarh register a 10-wicket win over Patna in the inaugural match of the State Bank of India Inter Circle Cricket Tournament at the Sector 16 stadium here today.
Electing to bat, Patna made 71/9 in the allotted 15 overs. Rajeev Ranjan (16) and Rishi Kant (15) made useful contributions to the Ptana total. Varun Khanna and Sarabjeet claimed two wickets each, while Siddharth Kaul accounted for one wicket.
In reply, Chandigarh rode on Ravi Inder’s 20-ball 54 to scamper home with all the 10 wickets in hand. Vishwas Bhalla hit 16 runs off just 3 balls.
Prateek, Vijay shine with ball
In the second match, Delhi defeated Amaravati by 41 runs.
Batting first, Delhi made 122/7 in 15 overs. Viabhav Yadav scored 22, while Rahul Yadav chipped in with 21 runs. Y Shalen and S Santosh took two wickets each.
In reply, Amaravati could only manage 81/9 in the allotted overs. Prateek and Vijay Bhadur picked four wickets each for Delhi.
Harsh propels Bhopal
Bhopal, meanwhile, started their campaign with a 50-run win against Mumbai.
Bhopal, powered by Harsh Gowli’s unbeaten 49-ball 99, made 162/2 in 15 overs after deciding to bat first. Anthony Pushparaj added 41 runs to the total. Mumbai, in reply, made 112/6. Kavi Mange (44) did the bulk of scoring for Mumbai. Jatin took two wickets for Bhopal. — TNS
