Following reports of fleecing by private hospitals in the city, Chandigarh Health Department on Tuesday directed them to refund the excess amount charged.

Dr Charu Singla, Nodal Officer, UT said, “A lot of private hospitals are overcharging patients. We have asked them to refund the amount charged excessively.”

The administration on Monday directed all private hospitals to ensure that when a team comes for inspection of the facility, they should extend full cooperation and submit all the documents in respect to the case file, pharmacy bills, billing details, and other bills that are generated.
