Repeat offender arrested with heroin, injections

In an ongoing special drive against drug trafficking, Chandigarh Police have arrested a repeat offender and seized some quantity of heroin and restricted pharmaceutical injections. The team from Sector 31 police station, led by SHO Rajiv Kumar, made the arrest on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Subham, aged 30, and resident of Phase 1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, was apprehended near Khushal Park, Phase-1, near the Air Force station boundary wall, when he was on foot and carrying a bag. The arrest was made by Sub-Inspector Dalvir Singh and his team during routine patrolling around 4.30 pm. Upon searching the carry bag, the police seized eight injections of buprenorphine hydrochloride IP (1 ml each), eight injections of pheniramine maleate IP (1 ml each) and 6.08 gm of heroin. The accused failed to produce any paper in this connection.

Following the recovery, a case has been registered. Subham, who is unemployed and has studied up to Class VIII, has a long history of criminal involvement, including many previous cases.
