Resident robbed of Rs 30,000
Two motorcycle-borne miscreants robbed Sumit, a resident of Khuda Lahora, of Rs 30,000 near Botanical Garden. A case has been registered at the Sarangpur police station and an investigation initiated.
Man arrested with heroin
The police have arrested a Mohali resident with 20.13 gram heroin. Kuberinder Singh was nabbed with the drug in Sector 52. A case has been registered at the Sector 36 police station.
Resident duped by fraudster
A city resident was duped of Rs 1.40 lakh by a cyber criminal. Mahinder Pal Singh of Sector 35 reported that a fraudster tricked him into transferring money. A case has been registered at the cybercrime police station.
Youth held for carrying knife
The police arrested Vinod from Phase II, Ram Darbar, while he was carrying a knife. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against him at the Sector 31 police station. He already faces five cases in Chandigarh.
National Youth Day celebrated
Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences celebrated National Youth Day with enthusiasm, paying tribute to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The institute launched a series of community initiatives on Sunday, aimed at fostering social responsibility and service. The initiatives were inaugurated by Dr Jyoti Rohilla and Dr Priyanka.
