Giving information Varinder Romana, a resident of Chajju Majra Colony, said, “The population of the colony is about 50,000. The MC owns five acres situated in the middle of the colony. Earlier, the civic body had passed a resolution to construct park on this vacant land. Now, the MC has started constructing garbage dump and processing plant on this vacant land.”

Other colony residents said, “Foul smell from the garbage dump will create problems for us. It is surprising that on one hand, the MC was going to spend lakhs on the park here and on the other hand garbage dump was being constructed at the site. We will never allow the MC to setup garbage dump here.”

Sohan Singh Chajumajra, a member of the MC from Ward No. 14 said, “I have already met senior officials of the civic body in this regard. Garbage dump will not be allowed at a place reserved for park.”
