Restore OPD facilities fully in Chandigarh after Diwali: Governor
Chandigarh, November 9
After nearly eight months, residents will be able to avail themselves of full OPD facilities after Diwali in the city. During a review meeting, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore has directed all hospitals to fully restore the original OPD facilities after Diwali.
Adhering to the strict protocol of Covid-19, the PGI and the GMCH-32 started OPD services from November 2.
The Acting Director Principal, GMCH 32, Dr Jasbinder Kaur, mentioned that due to increased number of Covid cases, the Sector 48 hospital has been re-opened to accommodate Covid patients.
Dr Amandeep Kang, Director Health Services, stated that they had tested 5,858 Covid samples and the positivity rate was 8.6%, which showed an increase in trend.
She also mentioned that 168 persons had been diagnosed with dengue and 708 persons had been kept in home isolation for Covid.
The Administrator directed the Deputy Commissioner to return the deposits taken from traders while holding the draw of lots for cracker stalls. — TNS
