A retired commercial pilot allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his house on Saturday morning. The 75-year-old reportedly “shot himself in the head with his licensed pistol”.

No suicide note was found from the spot.

The victim has been identified as Shivaji Ahluwalia a resident of Police Society in Sector 51.

The victim’s servant, who went to his room to give his tea, was the first to see the victim lying in his pool of blood.

The police said that the victim was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Sector 32, where doctors declared him brought dead.

“Victim’s daughter revealed that he was upset from last two weeks”, said a police official.

At Sector 49 police station, the police have initiated an investigation.
