Ribhav clinches tennis title

Top seed Chandigarh’s Ribhav Saroha won the boys U-16 title by recording a straight set 6-3 6-4 win over Haryana’s Harsh Marwaha in the ongoing CLTA-AITA National Series Tennis Tournament being played at the Sector 10 Sports Complex.

In the girls final, fifth seed K Kadian easily defeated Haryana’s Sarena Gahlot 6-3 6-3.

Meanwhile, Sarena Gahlot and Eshitha Sriyala won the girls U-16 doubles title by overpowering Reet Arora and Priyanshi Katial 7-5 6-3. The team of S Dwivedi and Kaustubh Singh won the boys U-16 doubles final by defeating top seed Divey Malik and Ribhav Saroha in a tough match. The title winners won the first set 6-2 but Malik and Saroha bounced back strongly in the second set with a 6-7(2) result.

In the decider game, the title winners were playing at par until recording the 10-8 verdict in their favour.

Dr Reet Mahinder Singh, member cxecutive committee, along with Megh Raj, chief operating officer; and Y Romen Singh, director coaching & development, CLTA, awarded the winners.
