Chandigarh, July 23

In view of a decline in Covid cases, the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) has decided to increase the number of appointments for the services of registration certificates (RCs) and driving licences (DLs).

The authority has also decided that the appointments for regular driving test will also be opened for booking for a period of one month. The portal for booking appointment will be made operational on July 25, at 8 am. Due to frequent cancellation of old appointments because of the pandemic, the authorities had decided to allow advance booking of appointments only for seven days.

RLA incharge Pradhuman Singh said now 300 appointments each for RC and DL-related cases and 100 appointments for driving test would be given every day.

The applicants who desire to book an appointment for the said services can visit the official website, www.chdtransport.gov.in, or call on 1860-180-2067. In case of query, applicants can dial 0172-2700341.
