Chandigarh, August 5

A half inner road stretch of Sector 20 remained closed for commuters after a part of it caved in.

The road caved in three days ago, but till today, the restoration work was not started. However, the area has been barricaded by the police.

Commuters are facing inconvenience as they have to take another route to cross that road. “It must be repaired as soon as possible as someone may fall inside the big pothole,” said Ramnik, a motorcycle rider.

“Though barricading has been done, it is not proper. The need of the hour is to cover this caved-in road. Children may fall here. It will also lead to breeding of mosquitoes due to the rains,” said Kishore, a shopkeeper.
