Family members of deceased property evaluator Mahavir Rana alleged that his body remained in the mortuary unidentified even as they searched for him for three days.

The Punjab Colony, Ramgarh, resident had left his house on October 6 night and went missing. Later, Phase-11 police found him and the accidental bike. His body was kept in the mortuary of the Phase-6 Civil Hospital. “The hospital reportedly informed the police but the cops did not contact us,” the deceased’s family member Ashu alleged.

Senior police officials said, prima facie, it appears to be a case of accident. An investigation is underway. —TNS
