A meeting of the governing body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti took place today at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh. The meeting was chaired by city MP Manish Tewari. Key issues such as patient grievances, medical staff requirements and upgrading of medical facilities were deliberated upon.

It focussed on reviewing the progress of various healthcare initiatives and discussed strategies for further improvement. A detailed action-taken report was presented, highlighting the achievements and challenges faced in implementing previous decisions. The discussions revolved around improving patient care services and ensuring efficient medical resource utilisation.

During the meeting, MP Tewari emphasised the need for greater transparency in budget spending. He urged officials to provide details on fund allocations and expenditures to ensure optimal utilisation of resources for patient care and hospital improvement.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, MC Commissioner Amit Kumar, DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, Director of Health Services Suman Singh and Director Social Welfare Palika Arora. Medical Superintendent, GMSH-16, Sushil Kumar Mahi and Dy Medical Superintendent Parmjit Singh were also present.

It was suggested that there should be an overall holistic review of the facilities that were available in the hospital and then a four-year plan should be drawn in order to see as to how those could be augmented to serve the people.
