Rohit, Kulwaran win I-Day golf tourney

Rohit Singh Dagar and Kulwaran Singh won the Independence Day Golf Cup, organised by the Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) at the club greens. The tournament is one of the most prestigious and longest running tournament of the CGC —which is played over a span of two months. This year, 200 golfers participated in the event. It’s unique format gives an opportunity to every golfer, irrespective of any handicap, to participate. The tournament is played on a match-play format. Earlier, the semifinals were keenly contested with the teams of Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi and Col Harinder Singh against Kulwaran and Dagar. The duo prevailed over Lt Gen Bakshi and Col Harinder on 15th hole. In the second semifinal, the team of Vishal Sharma and Gauhar Pruthi overpowered Sanjay Talwar and Navtaj Sujlana on the 14th hole. The final was played between the teams of Kulwaran and Dagar Kulwaran against Vishal and Pruthi.

Ravibir Singh Grewal, President, CGC and Dr Agnish, Chairman (tournaments), CGC, awarded the winners during the club night.
