Chandigarh: A declamation competition was held at KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 7, here. It was held among students of senior secondary classes on topics “Burgeoning Population – A Cause of Concern” and “Malala’s Concern for Right to Education for Girls”. Students from Classes XI and XII participated in the competition and presented their views. Roopashi was adjudged the best speaker of the day, whereas Udit Soni was declared the second best speaker. Shiven Sharma, who was appreciated for his views, was adjudged the third best speaker. TNS
Students excel in final exams
Mohali: Students of the Aryans Institute of Nursing excelled in the final examinations conducted by Punjab Nursing Registration Council (PNRC), Mohali. In General Nursing and Midwifery, (second year), Amanpreet Kaur from Punjab bagged the first position by securing 73.85 per cent marks, Amrtipal Singh from Haryana bagged the second position by securing 71 per cent marks and Rahul stood third by securing 65.28 per cent marks. Plantation drive
Chandigarh: On the occasion of Vanmahotsava, 30 students from Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh, participated in a plantation drive. The Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Banwarilal Purohit, inaugurated ‘Amrit Van’ wherein the students planted saplings under the “Van Vibhaag, Aapke Dwaar” plantation drive. A campaign was also launched to save the trees and keep the green cover intact. TNS
Blood donation camp held
Chandigarh: Bhavans Old Student’s Society (BOSS) conducted its annual blood donation camp in association with Peddlers, Sector 35, here. This was the 29th blood donation camp organised by the team. A team of doctors from the PGI coordinated the camp. Senior Principal Vineeta Arora, Principal of the New Chandigarh branch Inderpreet Kaur, Principal of Junior School Soma Mukhopadhyay, Vice-Principal Suparna Bansal and other teachers supported the event. 15 RBU students get placements
Mohali: Hexaware, a global leader and fast-growing company, has selected 15 candidates from Rayat Bahra University on an annual package of Rs 4 lakh. Among them, two students have been selected on an annual package of Rs 6 lakh. Hexaware Technologies Limited, a leading global provider of IT services, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rayat Bahra University for training of students and exchange programme. Disclosing this here on Thursday, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University and Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, said the MoU would benefit students of the university. The students would be trained according to the industry needs.
