In 2016, the then Mayor Arun Sood started this initiative, wherein a gardener used to be the guest of honour.

“I wanted that maximum number of gardeners should get the honour as they toil hard to make the Rose Festival special. I have directed the officials that the gardeners should picked up from their homes. They will distribute prizes as well,” said the Mayor.

“The Mayor and officials have been kind to us. I am receiving congratulatory phone calls. I have been working here since 32 years. Today, I feel special,” said Lal, a resident of Nayagaon.

“I feeling privileged like my other colleagues” said another gardener.

Krishan Pal Singh, Superintending Engineer, MC, said, “The objective is to give special honour to those who work the entire year for the success of Rose Festival. They will give away prizes to the winners in different categories.”
