Rock Zone captain Mohammed Arslan Khan’s 74-run knock went in vain as his team fell short of Rose Zone’s first-innings total of 338 in the UT Cricket Association Chandigarh Men’s Senior Multi-Day Tournament. Rose Zone was declared the winner on the basis of the first-innings lead.

After winning the toss, Rock Zone elected to bowl. Nikhil Thakur (69) was the top scorer for Rose Zone. In reply, Rock Zone managed 279 with skipper Khan leading from the front.

His brisk 74 off 88 deliveries was studded with 10 boundaries and a six. However, his dismissal triggered a collapse and the rest of the batting lineup failed to build partnerships.

Ramanjeet Singh also added a useful 58 but it wasn’t enough to avoid conceding the lead.
