Roundglass win twin tennis titles
Roundglass Tennis Academy (RGTA) players bagged both the singles and doubles titles at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour J60 Tournament held in Indore. Praneel Sharma secured the singles title, while Tanussh Ghildyal paired up with Samarth Sahita to clinch the doubles title. Second seed Praneel defeated first seed Samarth Sahita 6-2 7-6. In the semifinals, Praneel got the better of another RGTA player in Aashravya Mehra 6-1 6-2, while in the quarterfinals, he beat Daksh Kukreti 6-2 6-4. In the doubles final, number two seed Tanussh Ghildyal teamed up with singles runner up Sahita to outsmart first seed Aditya Mor and singles champion Praneel 6-3 6-1 in straight sets.
Cricket meet from Feb 10
The 5th Edition of Panna Lal Memorial U-19 League-Cum-Knockout Basis Cricket Tournament will begin from February 10 at IVCA Cricket Academy Ground, Derabassi, and at other venues. All teams will play a minimum four league matches and the top two teams will qualify for the final. The matches will of 40 overs a side.
Saiyam, Kapil for world meet
Local judokas Saiyam Choudhary and Kapil Damai have been selected for international judo on the basis of their medals in Cadet National Judo Championship 2024-25. Saiyam Choudhary, a student of Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22, had won silver in the boys U-18 age group in 50kg category. Kapil Damai of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 21, won bronze in the -60kg event. Both Judokas are trained by coach Vivek Thakur at the Sector 34 sports complex.
Narwal Academy win cricket meet
Narwal Cricket Academy, Karnal, defeated Rajesh Patha Cricket Academy by 13 runs to win the 4th Krishna Devi Memorial Senior Women Cricket Tournament. Batting first, the Karnal team posted 239/9 with the help of Amisha (76 off 90 balls), Komal (72 off 64 balls), Suman Sandhu (32) and Aastha (21). Priya Kumari claimed three wickets, while Rajni Devi claimed two for the bowling side. Pushpa Bishnoi and Monika Jangu claimed one wicket each. In reply, the local team posted 223. Palak Rana (61),Twinkle Pathak (52), Nitika (22) and Twinkle Thakur (22) scored for the side. Smayra Thakur and Suman Sandhu claimed three wickets each, while Komal took two. Komal (best performer of the final and best fielder), Amisha (best batter), Monika Bishnoi (best bowler), Samoda Dixit (best all rounder and best player, Anam Rana (best wicketkeeper) were awarded.
