Rs 3,000 snatched at Mauli Jagran

Chandigarh: Three motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly snatched Rs3,000 from a person at Mauli Jagran. According to the police, complainant Amit Kumar, a native of Sonepat, Haryana, alleged that three unknown persons snatched the cash from him on October 1. The police have registered a case at the Mauli Jagran police station. TNS

Victim’s wife held in murder case

Chandigarh: The UT police have arrested 25-year-old painter’s wife in the murder case. Victim Sonu, a resident of Palsora, who worked as a painter, was hit with some heavy object on his head and stabbed on the back. His body was found in the forest area of Sector 54 on September 30. The police on Thursday arrested victim’s cousin Rajiv, who was also a painter. Sources said his interrogation revealed that the victim’s wife was also involved in the murder. “The victim’s wife had illicit relation with Rajiv following which they hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him,” the sources added.
