Samriti tops Class VIII Punjab board exams in Mohali

Samriti Verma of Government High School, Karkour, has secured 595 marks out of a total of 600 to top Mohali district and bag 43rd position on the merit list of the PSEB Class VIII examination, the results of which were declared today.

Mithu of Government Middle School, Jandpur, scored 591 marks to bag 103rd position on the merit list. Amanpreet Kaur of Government Middle School, Siao, bagged 589 marks securing the 216th position. Sutej (98.17%) of Mount View Public School, Baltana, scored 589 marks.

Mohali has stood 11th on the list of 23 districts in the state in terms of overall pass percentage.

As many as 10,140 students appeared for the examination in the district, of whom 9,900 cleared the exam, a pass percentage of 97.63.

Amritsar (98.85), Pathankot (98.76), Gurdaspur (98.73), Kapurthala (98.50) and Ferozepur (98.26) are the top five districts.

Amritsar district’s performance has been remarkable with 28,214 students passing the exam out of a total of 28,541.

As many as 2,90,471 students of 10,471 schools of the state appeared for the examination (2024-2025) held in February.

A total of 2,82,627 students cleared the exam, with a pass percentage of 97.30. In 2023-2024, the overall pass percentage was 98.31 per cent.
