Sandeep Singh Sandhu emerged as the overall winner of the May Monthly Medal Round organised by the Chandigarh Golf Club, from among the members of all handicap categories.
Vikram Bhagwan won the Handicap (0–9) event, while Col NS Bains claimed the second position. In the Handicap (10–18) event, Surinder Singh claimed the first position, followed by Harmohan Singh at second. Bachitter Singh won the Handicap (19–24), followed by Rajiv Kaila at second spot. In the above 75 years (9 holes) event, BR Banga and Col MS Sidhu claimed the top two positions, respectively, while in the above 85 years (- 9 holes) event, Brig Satjit Singh won the top spot and Brig Surinder Singh finished second.
In the ladies category, Jyoti Gosal claimed the top position, followed by Sunali Aggarwal at second position. In the above 75 years event, Swatantra Kapur and Vijay Wadhawan claimed the top two positions, respectively, while Col SS Gill and Devinder Singh won the straightest drive event and Capt GS Ghuman won the closest to the pin event.
The monthly medal rounds are a cornerstone of the club’s competitive calendar, bringing together golfers of all levels for a spirited day of golf, sportsmanship and community engagement, said Dr GS Kochhar, chairman, media and publicity committee.
