As many as 350 students of the Strawberry Fields Play School, Sector 24, tapped together to showcase their annual sporty musical soirée. Tiny tots dressed in attractive attire were all smiles in the school lawns. Five orchestrated sports presentations were enacted in a sequence that preceded a march past by four and five-year-olds and concluded with a set of 13 races, including, seasons catch, flag bearers blowing windmills, Santa’s helpers and daring hurdles.
The kindergarteners took turns to show their moves and smiled their way through the 90-minute show. The students showcased the value of unity, patriotism, collective energies and inclusiveness. The ‘Dancercise Delight’ had lower KG classes enhance the spirit of the afternoon. Fun with letters was a showpiece for the versatility of the alphabet and ‘Balloon Town’ was all about drills and formations.
“The entire concept is based on equal participation, fair play and healthy competition. Our effort is directed at getting everyone to experience the sporting spirit and to spread cheer through their actions and bonhomie,” said school director Atul Khanna. He further added, “What not many people know about the school is its work in the social development space, supporting schools and crèches in labour colonies. Reaching out to more than 400 underprivileged children, the foundation has been expanding its base.”
“We relived our childhood through the antics of our little children,” said Varsha, a parent.
Lastly, Santa Claus arrived in an open vintage car waving and distributing goodies to the tune of Christmas carols.
