School notes: Development workshop hosted
Bhavan Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh
The school hosted a leadership development workshop for teachers, conducted by Mahesh Rawat, a corporate trainer, with 15 years of experience in HR. The workshop focused on the essential traits of effective leadership, emphasising the importance of balancing between knowledge, skills and values.
GMS Pocket No. 6, Mani Majra
The school hosted a unique ‘Millet Fair’ on its premises, showcasing the culinary creativity of students and teachers. The event aimed at spreading awareness about the nutritional benefits and versatility of millets. Students and teachers together prepared over 25 dishes, including millet cakes, bajra bhel, ragi cookies, ragi idli, samak kheer, samak pulao and jowar khichdi. School incharge Bharti appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and discussed its benefits.
Guru Nanak Foundation, Mohali
The staff and students of the school celebrated Hindi Diwas. Some of the highlights of the week-long event were speech recitation, essay writing, Hindi poem recitation, recitation of ‘Kabir Das ke Dohey’, ‘Rahim ke Dohey’, ‘Tulsi Das ke Dohey’, singing songs, dance, general knowledge quiz competition in Hindi, drama play, slogan writing, etc, by the students of various classes.

A one-day capacity-building programme on ‘Learning Outcomes and Pedagogy’ for teachers was organised by CBSE at the school. Monika Chawla, Principal St Joseph School, Sector -44 Chandigarh and Jasmeet kaur, Principal, Paragon School, Sector- 71, Mohali, were the eminent resource persons of the programme. The session was attended by teachers from various schools and was highly informative and enlightening. School Principal Rosy Sharma thanked the resource persons for delivering a creative, amazing and knowledgeable session.

The school organised a special workshop for the parents of pre-primary students, on the subject of ‘Time Management: The most precious resource’. This workshop provided parents with practical strategies to teach their children the importance of managing time effectively from an early age.

The event saw the young swimmers dive into the world of water sports, showcasing their talent. The event focused on building confidence among students and encouraging fitness.

A Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme was successfully conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) at, Sector 45. The training course aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Ramandeep Kaur, Deputy Secretary/Head COE highlighted the initiatives taken by the board to focus on the improvement of academic outcomes.
