Shishu Niketan-22

Akshit Sharma, a Class 9 student of Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, has become the only student from Chandigarh to claim the first position in All India Competitions organised by CBSE for 2024-2025. Akshit secured first prize in drawing. The school was honoured with the ‘Best School Award’. Harleen Bajwa received the ‘Ideal Principal Award 2024’ and Mehak Sehgal was bestowed with ‘the Best Teacher Award 2024’.

Mind Tree School, Mohali

Mind Tree School, Mohali, hosted the annual day celebrations showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage, centered around the theme ‘Light, Colours & Celebration – A Festival of Festivals’. The performances kicked off with a Lohri play and dance, followed by Kashmiri dance. A Christmas play and dance sequence brought the spirit of the holiday season.

Shemrock School-69

Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, organised two-day annual sports day, during the founder’s week celebrations. The day witnessed cultural bonanza of events with Ganesh Vandana, Zumba and Bhangra as the highlights of the day. It was followed by the finals of the athletic events, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m races for boys and girls.

Ryan International School, Chd

Ryan International School, Chandigarh, organised its 25th Minithon in the vicinity of the school under Ryan International Sports Club. A total of 2,730 students from 19 schools of the tricity and Punjab region participated in the event. Team championship trophy was won by Ryan International School, Chandigarh, while Ryan international school, Amritsar, tool second position. The third position was shared by Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 54, Chandigarh, and Saupins School, Chandigarh. Mass participation award was bagged by Shishu Niketan, Sector 43.

Saupin’s School, Chd

Students from Saupin’s School, Sector 32, showcased talent at the 52nd Rajya Stariya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani hosted by SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training). Uday Sharma and Ameesh Garg bagged the first prize in the Computational Thinking and Mathematical Modelling category. Tiya Ahuja and Saket Sharma won the second prize in the waste management theme. Meanwhile, Koushal, a Class IX student, has earned a spot in The India Book of Records 2024. She has achieved the milestone of receiving 300 certificates, eight awards, two badges and 12 medals by participating in various competitions.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27

The Interact Club of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, in collaboration with Rotary Club organised Rotary Young Leadership Awards (RYLA) themed “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.” The programme aimed to promote inclusivity, empower people with disabilities, and foster a culture of empathy and understanding.

FirstSteps IB World School

Chandigarh: Students of FirstSteps IB World School, Sector 26, showcased their theatrical prowess by presenting My Fair Lady, a timeless classic based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion. Over 1.5 months of dedicated preparation culminated in a 1 hour and 40 minutes play, which involved 63 talented students from grades 6 to 10.

St Xavier’s High School, Panchkula

St Xavier’s High School, Panchkula, hosted its annual sports day. Principal George S Shear addressed and welcomed parents. The festivities began with a march past, followed by a delightful a Joyful Jesters performance.
