School Notes: Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh

The school formally inaugurated a ‘production and broadcasting studio’ on campus. The inauguration was attended by the president of the school, Neena Setya, the managing director, Parveen Setya, the director, Devraj Setya, the faculty, and the kindergarten choir group. The kindergarten choir group were the first ones to experience the studio. They thoroughly enjoyed recording the Gayatri Mantra, followed by the school prayer.

GMS, Pocket 6, Mani Majra

The vice-head of GMHS, Mani Majra, Gurvinder Singh, attended the National Science Day celebrations at the school. The day started with discussions about Indian scientists and their inventions, and it featured a quiz on Chandrayaan-3. A workshop on pot making was also organised at the event.

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh

The school partnered with CCPCR to host an orientation tailored for students who would be going to Class 10 in the upcoming academic year. Krishan Kumar Sony, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry at PGI-Chandigarh, spoke about the rise in drug addiction and the deteriorating state of mental health in society. The principal of the school, Reema Dewan, urged the parents to participate in drafting a discipline policy for the children to foster a more conducive learning environment. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR, apprised the audience about the workings of the commission and appealed to the parent community to befriend their children and always have healthy communication with them.

St Xavier’s Sr Sec School, Chandigarh

Students showcased their athletic prowess at the annual athletic meets of the school. Around 90 teachers from various departments participated in various events along with the students. The principal of the school, Ivorine Castellas, congratulated the winners and presented them with prizes.

Ryan International School, Patiala

A cultural programme marked the 17th annual day of the school. The event was graced by the presence of an array of eminent guests, including Dr Dilbar Singh (Assistant Director NSS, Patiala), Tarlok Singh Sandhu (Sportsperson-Olympic Basketball), Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra (Sanaur MLA), and Daljit Singh Gouraya (DM Sports, Patiala), among others. The event featured thought-provoking performances with themes such as mobile addiction and environmental conservation. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony.
