Students of Class IV visited The Tribune Trust, Sector 29, Chandigarh, as part of the school’s industrial education programme. This educational visit aimed at providing them an opportunity to understand the process of printing and to explore the world of journalism and print media. The students were given a tour of the printing press by the trust’s staff, who guided them through the complex process of producing a newspaper. The students were particularly interested in the massive printing press. The students got an opportunity to see the latest machinery used in the process of producing newspapers. They also learned about the different types of inks used in printing, their composition and the role they played in the final product. The visit ended with a session where the students asked questions to get a deeper understanding of all that they had observed.
