Scuffle at Dhakoli CHC, two women docs threatened
Two women medical officers were allegedly threatened and public property was damaged in a clash between two groups at the Community Health Centre in Dhakoli late last night. In her complaint, Dr Mausam Kapil, MD (Surgery), said the incident took place when following a fight, two groups came to the centre for a medico legal examination. Suddenly, an unidentified man started arguing with the staff. He then thrashed two women of his rival group.
The doctors and medical staff locked themselves in a room to save themselves. The doctors alleged despite repeated calls to the police, they failed to get a response.
The accused also threatened the doctors to influence the medico legal report. A case under Sections 221, 351(2), 324 (3) of the BNS, and Section 4 of the Punjab Protection of Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act 2008 was registered at Dhakoli police station on Monday.
