Chandigarh, January 29
The Department of Tourism, UT, today organised an inaugural event for Walk of Art at Sukhna Lake in collaboration with Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi and UT Engineering Department.
Sculptures by various local artists have been installed along Sukhna Lake to enhance the beauty of the area. With the support of the horticulture wing of the Engineering Department, nameplates have been installed for all trees along Sukhna Lake to raise awareness about green heritage of the City Beautiful.
UT Adviser Manoj Parida, who was the chief guest, praised the efforts of the Tourism Department for adding another feather in the cap of the City Beautiful.
The UT Adviser also praised and felicitated the staff of the Engineering Department and Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi for their contribution and prompt work at the lake.
Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Home-cum-Tourism, Debendra Dalai, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jaswinder Kaur, MD, CITCO, Nitika Pawar, Special Secretary-cum-Director Tourism, CB Ojha, Special Secretary-cum-Chief Engineer, Bheem Malhotra, chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi, and other officers were also present during the inauguration.
