Area councillor Saurabh Joshi has been pursuing the proposal for a long time. He said that the club would provide the best services to the residents. Initially, the contract will be given for 10 years, with a possible two-year extension. Residents of the area have been demanding for a long time an improvement in the condition of the club.

JD Gupta, a resident of Sector 16, said that the club was located at a prime location of the city, and added that the club had been mismanaged by the MC for a long time. He further said that though giving the project on PPP model was the right decision, a designated project monitoring committee should be constituted to ensure that the rates of the services remain within the reach of the common people. Periodic inspections should be carried out to control the functioning of the club. He said that it would also be ensured that the agency running the club would preserve the original character of the club also.
