The Engineering Department has constructed a state-of-the-art basketball court at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, on an area of 7,000 sq ft (approximately) by spending Rs 70 lakh. This initiative aims to promote sports and provide athletes with world-class facilities at the school level.
The newly constructed courts feature FIBA (International Basketball Federation) approved synthetic PU flooring, ensuring top-tier quality and durability and enabling optimal playing experience for students and athletes. To enhance aesthetics and functionality, a colour coat has been applied on the top polyurea surface as per the approved shade. Game marking lines have been meticulously painted in compliance with international standards.
This development will serve as a major boost for sports training and competitions, providing students with a professional playing surface that meets international standards. The newly constructed basketball court is expected to significantly contribute to the overall sports culture at the school, encouraging students to enhance their skills, claimed officials.
