Section 144 imposed, buses to go off roads on March 22

The Haryana Government today invoked Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 thus restricting assembly of five or more than five people at public places in the wake of coronavirus (Covid-19) scare.
The district administration ordered heads of all the departments to keep their mobile phones on submit a list of employees and their contact details working under them.
Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja said the administration has formed a Disaster Management Committee as well.
Public dealings restricted
The government has asked the Deputy Commissioners to put restrictions on public dealings in government offices.
“Public access to government offices shall be restricted by the departments/offices in exceptional circumstances, controlled and regulated access shall be permitted,” the order reads.
Ravinder Pathak, General Manager, Haryana Roadways, said, “Roadways buses, including those on local routes, will remain off the road on March 22 in the wake of ‘Janata curfew’ announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Panchkula has a fleet of 154 buses, including 35 buses, which ply on local routes.
Passes for hospital staff
Staff working at medical institutions, including Sector 6 Civil Hospital, will be issued passes to avoid hassles.
‘Stay at home’
The Deputy Commissioner advised residents to stay at home on March 22 in the wake of ‘Janata curfew’” between 7 am and 9 pm.
