Sector 21 PG owner booked

Chandigarh: The UT police have booked a Sector 21 resident for not providing information about a PG (paying guest) residing at his house. A case under Section 188 of the IPC has been registered against Chand Mohanvir Singh at the Sector 19 police station. He was arrested and later released on bail. TNS

Purse stolen from SUV

Chandigarh: An unknown person stole a purse from an SUV parked outside a café in Sector 7. The complainant, Hemant Sachdeva, reported that the thief broke the left window glass of his Safari and stole his purse containing Rs20,700, credit and debits cards and other documents. A case has been registered at the Sector 26 police station. TNS

Three women flee with purse

Chandigarh: Three unidentified women stole a purse containing cash and documents from a shop in Sector 30. A girl reported that around three women stole her purse containing Rs20,000, ATM card and other documents from a shop. A case has been registered at the Industrial Area police station. TNS

Registration for admission

Chandigarh: University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, has started online registration of candidates for admission to MBA programmes (MBA, MBA-IB, MBA-HR and MBA-EP) at the UBS for session 2022-23 from December 17 till January 31. PU postpones examinations

Chandigarh: Due to administrative reasons, the Panjab University authorities have postponed all undergraduate/ postgraduate odd semester exams and practical exams, scheduled from December 17, and also theory exams, scheduled from December 22. The fresh dates for these exams will be notified later. The PU has advanced the winter break, scheduled from January 28 to February 2, to December 18 to December 25. TNS

UT police top in CCTNS

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Police secured the first position among the UTs in the implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS). This was revealed during a virtual conference on good practices held by the National Crime Records Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday. The award was presented to UT DGP Parveer Ranjan and SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal by Ajay Kumar Mishra, Union Minister of State (Home), through e-platform. TNS
