Sector 37 govt school team score big win in baseball final

The Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 37, team won the boys’ U-19 title at the interschool baseball tournament.

In the final, the Sector-37 team posted a 9-2 win over DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8. Meanwhile, GMSSS, Sector 10, defeated Ryan International School, Sector 47, to claim the third position with a 10-02 verdict.

In the boys’ U-14 category, the GMSSS, Sector 10, lads won the gold medal by defeating Ryan International School 10-00, and GMSSS, Sector 16, finished third by defeating Government Model High School, Sector 37 (C), 6-1.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-19 interschool football tournament, St John’s School, Sector 26, recorded a 3-0 win over Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22. Daksh, Aryanveer and Mantas scored a goal each for the winning side. In the second match, St Soldier’s School, Sector 28, defeated GMSSS, Sector 21, as Jasgun and Kartikay posted a goal each.

Girls’ side bag fencing gold

The girls’ U-19 fencing team of GMSSS, Sector 10, won the overall championship with a score of 42 points. Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, finished second with 26 points and Bhavan Vidyalaya ended at third position with 10 points.

In the (team) foil event, the Sector 10 team won the gold medal, while the Sector 9 finished second. Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, and Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 40, shared third position.

Meanwhile, in the individual event, Chaitanya Gosain defeated Saloni Chainwal to claim the gold medal, and Diya Bisht shared the third position with Manasvi Singh.
