Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu inaugurated an open-air gym in Sector 77 here today.

Addressing the gathering, the Mayor said: “In this Covid era, exercise is a must to strengthen our immune system. Expensive gym equipment are being installed in the open so that people can exercise near their houses. In addition to walking in parks, people can stay fit by doing workout on these machines”.

Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said the Mohali Municipal Corporation was also preparing to take over the sports stadium constructed by GMADA soon.

The Mayor said after assuming the office, he had passed Rs5 crore for gyms in Mohali. For the first time not only the work of strengthening infrastructure in societies was being carried out by the MC, but also residents of these societies were being provided with the facility of open-air gyms.
