The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital, Mandi Gobindgarh, celebrated International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Day by organising a seminar on ‘Oral Cancer Awareness and Future Trends in Implants’. Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, inaugurated the seminar, whereas Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, and Dr Unnati Pitale, Principal, presided over the event.

Ahead of International Women’s Day, the Gender Equity Society ‘Sahasi’ and Students’ Welfare Committee (Girls) of PGGC, Sector 46, in collaboration with Meri Uddan Welfare Foundation, organised an awareness programme ‘Meri Udaan’ on menstrual hygiene.
Dayanand Saraswati’s birth anniv
Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Sector 36, Chandigarh, marked the celebration of 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati with a two-day mahotsav. The celebration began with ‘pushpanjali (‘prabhat pheri’) followed by ‘divyanjali’ (havan yajna). Various competitions were also held.
Students urged to vote responsibly
The Centre for Distance and Online Education, Institute of Social Science Education and Research & Institute of Educational Technology and Vocation Education, PU, organised a one-day seminar on the topic, ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’. Prof Surinder Kler Shukla encouraged students to cast their vote responsibly.
Lecture on HIV-AIDS organised
The Centre for Public Health, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, conducted a special lecture on ‘HIV-AIDS Awareness Among Youth’. A total of 50 participants attended lectures delivered by Dr Bharti Sharma, assistant professor, HPGDC, Shimla, along with Dr Rajesh Biswas, associate professor, Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
