Senior officers to join night patrolling
For the first time, officers, including SSP UT and SSP Traffic and Security, will be deployed for night patrolling to enhance security. The police department has issued a roster for this month, assigning senior officers to night duty.
UT SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, SSP Traffic and Security Sumer Partap Singh, SP City Geetanjali Kandelwal, Commandant IRB and SP Crime Jasbir Singh, and SP Intelligence and Headquarters Manjeet will oversee night patrolling from 11 pm to 4 am.
Previously, night checking was managed by a DSP and three inspectors, including an SHO. Sources confirm that this existing arrangement will continue alongside the new deployment.
