Manoj Parida, UT Adviser-cum-Chairman, Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), today visited pre-fab shelters in Sector 52 and 56 from where occupants are being re-located to Maloya under the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme.
He interacted with the occupants and listened to their grievances. Councillor Chandrawati Shukla was also present at the site in Sector 52.
Maintain hygiene, sanitation: Adviser
Manoj Parida, UT Adviser-cum-Chairman, Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), asked the residents to maintain hygiene and sanitation and to concentrate on the education of their children in the good atmosphere. Councillor Rajesh Kalia was also present in the Maloya Housing Complex.
It was decided that after completing the relocation as per the survey list, other requests may be considered by a committee. If some of them found to be eligible, they may be considered under the scheme.
Shifting of occupants from pre-fab shelters to Maloya will be completed within this month itself. Though the process of shifting is going on smoothly, it must be ensured that there is minimum inconvenience to the residents during the shifting process.
Land vacated at the site of pre-fab shelters will be immediately protected with barbed wire fencing and the Administration will decide about its future use.
Thereafter, the Adviser visited the Maloya complex and interacted with residents who have shifted there in the past 15 days. The residents expressed their gratitude to the Administration for providing them flats for dignified living.
Parida asked the residents to maintain hygiene and sanitation and to concentrate on the education of their children in the good atmosphere. Councillor Rajesh Kalia was also present in the Maloya Housing Complex.
After interacting with the residents, the Adviser instructed that the initial teething problems in some of the flats to be attended by the CHB on a priority and the complaint office should be pro-active to resolve these issues.
The vending platforms and commercial booths should be allotted on a priority by the Municipal Corporation/CHB.
The Adviser also inspected the ongoing physical possession process and release of electricity and water connections at Maloya.
