The police remand of shooter Nitin Nahar (20) was today extended by five days by a local court. The police said Nitin had fired from two weapons. While one pistol was recovered by the Punjab Police earlier, the other pistol was yet to be recovered.

Police officials said Nitin had two weapons and he shot with both hands at businessman and hotelier Rakesh Singla’s house in Sector 33.

“We have to recover the second weapon used in the crime by Nitin. The other shooters involved in the crime are yet to be arrested due to which we further sought his remand,” said a police official.

Nitin was arrested by the Punjab Police in June. He was brought on production warrants by the Chandigarh Police on July 16. Nitin is the second shooter to have been arrested in the firing case.
