Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Rifle Association will organise the 46th Chandigarh State Shooting Championship from September 24-28 at the Patiala-ki-Rao Shooting Ranges. Shooters can compete in .177 Air Rifle/Pistol, .22 Rifle, .22 Standard Pistol, .22 Free Pistol, .22 Sports Pistol and Centre Fire Pistol in different age groups. Interested shooters need to register for the event before September 21. The shooters scoring minimum qualifying scores will represent Chandigarh in the All-India GVM Shooting Competition, to be held in Ahmedabad from October 10. — TNS

Malik to head kayaking assn

Chandigarh: The Kayaking & Canoeing Association Chandigarh held its annual general body meeting and election on Thursday. Dr Rakesh Malik was elected as the new president, while Jayant Kumar was elected as secretary. The other office-bearers include PS Lamba, Ranjan Sethi, KPS Dhillon, Dr Neeru Malik, Rajinder Sharma, Sugandha Sharma, Jayant Kumar, Gurcharanjit Singh, Rakesh Bakshi, Rajesh Sharma, Jagtar Singh, Nimit Kumra, Deepak Kumar, Robin Inder Pal Singh, Prabhjot Kaur and Dilmohan Kaur. — TNS
