Shoplifter strikes gold at Elante

In a shoplifting incident, an unknown person stole a gold bangle, costing around Rs 1.13 lakh, from a store at Elante Mall.

According to the police, complainant Pushp Rai reported that a man visited the store, Bluestone Jewellery and Lifestyle Pvt Ltd, to buy jewellery on December 14. The suspect walked to the counter and started checking rings. He later went to another counter where bangles were displayed.

The suspect then lifted a bangle and left the store. The theft came to notice later following which the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the store was analysed and it was found that the suspect had stolen the bangle. The man entered the store at 5.06 pm and walked out of the store while talking on the mobile phone at 5.24 pm. The police were informed, who registered a case at the Industrial Area police station. — TNS
