Show-cause notice issued by Chandigarh MC Commissioner to SDO, JE

MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra today served a show-cause notice on the Sub-Divisional Engineer (SDO) and the Junior Engineer (JE) of the Municipal Corporation’s Public Health Division for dereliction of duty, a day after negligence was detected at a construction site of a road gully in Sector 21 here.

It was noticed that the construction work of a road gully in Sector 21 was awarded to contractor Vakeel Yadav, who left the dug-up road without putting any signboard around the area to caution the general public. Taking a note of this, the MC chief issued a show-cause notice to officials responsible for this work and directed that a show-cause was also issued to the contractor. — TNS
