Simerdeep Kaur of AKSIPS, Sector 41, defeated Avineet Kaur of St Xavier’s by 21-18, 15-21, 21-19 to win the girls’ singles final of the 5th Emily Memorial Badminton Tournament played at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44.

Nine school teams participated in the event. In the girls’ doubles final, the pair of Pari Khambra and Sehajpreet Kaur from MDAV School ousted Tanvi Rohilla and Arshiya Negi of St Xavier`s, Panchkula, 21-11 21-08. Tejas Tewari of the host team won the boys’ singles final by defeating Aayush Naithani of St Xavier`s, Mohali, 21-11 21-16.

Aarav Chadda and Kartikey of St Xavier`s, Chandigarh, defeated Samuel Shelly and Lakshay Rohilla of St Xavier`s, Panchkula, 21-11 17-21 21-13 to bag the title. The host team won the overall trophy.

Chandan S Patwal, Additional Principal, appreciated the spirit of each participant in this annual tournament and congratulated the winners. Dr Ivorine Castellas, Principal, gave away the prizes to the winners and coaches.
