Simranpreet, Aditya of PU in the lead in inter-varsity shooting tournament
Simranpreet Kaur Brar of Panjab University scored 583 points to maintain the lead in the women’s 25m sports pistol events on the sixth day of the All-India Inter-University Shooting Championship being organised by the PU at the Mohali Shooting Range.
Tejaswani of Delhi University ended the day with 582 points, while Riya Shirish Thate settled for third position with 579 points. Kamakshi Kumar of Guru Gobind Singh Indrarprastha University of Delhi slipped to the fourth position with the score of 579.
In the men’s 10m air pistol event, Aditya Malra of PU was in the leading position with 583 points, followed by Mukesh Nelavali of KLEF, Andhra Pradesh, with 582 points, and Patil Pranav of Shivaji University of Kolhapur with 578 points.
In the women’s 10m air pistol event, Suruchi of the MDU, Rohtak, scored 581 points to lead the event. Sainyam of the PU remained second with 580, and Surbhi Rao of Chandigarh University finished the day with a score of 578.
In the men’s 50m rifle 3 position, Rudranksh Patil of Mumbai University led with a respectable total of 593 followed by Aishwarya Pratap of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, with 592 points and Manvendra Singh Sekhawat of Maharaja Ganga Singh University with 589.
In the women’s 50m rifle 3 position, Ashi Choukshi of Amritsar was in the lead with 591 points. Sift Kaur Samra of Baba Farid University trailed with 589, while Nischal of Manipal University, Jaipur, was placed third with 587 points (inner ten -32). Suryavanshi of Savitri Phule University, Pune, shot 587 (inner ten-27) to settle for the fourth spot.
