Residents of Singha Devi, near Nayagaon, have been forced to live without proper and water supply for the past 45 days. Frustrated by this dire situation, hundreds of people-including women-organised a public meeting attended by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab leader Vineet Joshi to share their grievances.

People from Himnagar and Ramnagar present at the meeting revealed that electricity is available only sporadically. Residents reported that the lack of electricity throughout the night leaves people sleepless, affecting their work the next day and their children's studies. Shopkeepers said that without electricity, milk, yogurt, sweets, paneer, and medicines are spoiling. Businesses dependent on electricity have nearly shut down.

Several women said water supply lasts only 5-10 minutes, forcing them to rely on expensive tankers. They also alleged that water from the village tubewell was being diverted elsewhere.
