Chandigarh, December 3

Family members of the advocate Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, alias Sippy, who was murdered in 2015, have demanded CCTV footage and the soft data of the mobile phone of the deceased from the CBI.

In an application filed before the Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI (Chandigarh), the victim’s mother, Deepinder Kaur, and brother, Jasmanpreet Singh Sidhu, said the investigating officer of the CBI had not provided them with all materials which they had sought. They said in the absence of information demanded, it was not feasible to file a protest petition.

They prayed for issuing the directions to the investigating officer to supply the remaining documents and information which was not found on the pen drive supplied to them on the last date of hearing. They have demanded that they be provided with one DVD containing CCTV footage dated September 18, 2015, of a camera installed at Thapar Shoe Shop in Sector 19, Chandigarh; soft data retrieved from mobiles and laptop and external drive of deceased Sippy along with observation memo. They also demanded many other items mentioned in the report filed by the CBI before the court.

The court has fixed the next date of hearing for December 20. The victim’s family have opposed the untrace report filed by the CBI.
