Chandigarh, July 4

Kalyani Singh, prime accused in the Sippy Sidhu murder case, has filed a bail application in a local court. The court has issued notice to the CBI for July 8 to file its reply.

The CBI had arrested Kalyani on June 15 after she was called to join probe. After six-day remand, she was sent to judicial custody on June 21.

The plea has been filed through advocate Sartej Singh Narula. Sippy, an advocate, was shot in a Sector 27 park on the night of September 20, 2015. After the murder, the police had registered a case against unidentified persons. The case was transferred to the CBI in 2016. After six years of investigation, the CBI had filed an untraced report in December 2020. The report was, however, not accepted by the court due to ambiguity.
