The CBI investigation has revealed that slain national-level shooter and advocate Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, aka Sippy Sidhu, had sent accused Kalyani Singh’s objectionable pictures to her family and friends several times through his contacts, after their relationship turned sour. This has been cited as the motive behind Sippy’s murder.

During the investigation, the CBI had come across six girlfriends of Sippy. His girlfriend number six (as per the CBI) was instrumental in sending the objectionable pictures of the accused.

The CBI claims that since October 2014, the relationship between Sippy and the accused was not cordial after which Sippy, through his girlfriend number six, residing in the UK, managed to send objectionable pictures to Kalyani’s parents and friends.

After Kalyani and her family raised the issue, Sippy denied his role. No complaint was lodged by Kalyani or her family. Sippy had also tried to send objectionable pictures of the accused to her parents and friends from someone abroad, the CBI investigation has revealed.

In September 2014, Sippy had told his friend to transmit a secret message mentioning “Countdown begins” from a phone of a person abroad, following which his friend further gave Sippy the mobile number of another friend working in Dubai. Sippy wanted to transmit an objectionable picture of the accused, which was not transmitted by that person. Sippy later told his friend not to press the person for the transmission of the message as he had already managed to transmit the picture through his friend settled in the UK.

It was confirmed through WhatsApp chat number 1,929 (as mentioned in the CBI record), held between Sippy and his friend on November 30, 2014, extracted from Sippy’s iphone 5.

Another WhatsApp chat number 1,921 between Sippy and the person working in Dubai has confirmed that on November 26, 2014, Sippy passed the pictures to be transmitted to three mobile phones.

As per the investigation, WhatsApp chat number 3,299 of Sippy with his girlfriend number six revealed that on November 27, 2014, Sippy had requested her to send objectionable pictures with a caption to Kalyani’s parents and her friends. After sending the pictures, she sent the screenshots to Sippy to confirm the delivery.

After this, the accused and her family met Sippy and his mother at their house. They had a heated debate and questioned him about the pictures, but Sippy said he had no knowledge about it.

The accused’s father asked Sippy to hand over the objectionable material. According to the CBI, he also requested them not to make those pictures viral and spare his daughter.

The accused restarted her relationship in November 2014 with Sippy for getting the objectionable pictures deleted. On January 2, 2015, girlfriend number one received a message from the accused asking her to stay away from Sippy.

In 2015, the accused actively remained in touch with Sippy and attended functions with him. She wanted to get back the objectionable data, but he kept lingering on it, according to the CBI. On March 17, 2015, a message was exchanged between them in this regard.

In April/May 2015, Sippy again managed to send objectionable pictures to her friends. One of the accused’s friends received objectionable pictures of the accused in April/May 2015, which continued till July 2015. However, he could not know the identity of the sender as when the accused got to know about it, she told her friend not to respond to that number.

The accused raised the issue with Sippy’s mother. Deepinder Kaur told the accused that she would get their marriage solemnised. However, the accused replied that she did not want to marry him. Despite all this, both Sippy and the accused were meeting each other and exchanged emails.

She was a frequent visitor to his office till August 2015. Sippy went abroad on August 21, 2015. During his stay abroad, Sippy and the accused exchanged numerous emails up to September 12, 2015.

On August 29, 2015, Sippy wrote to her admitting his wrongdoings and told her about his seriousness to marry her. On August 30, 2015, Sippy wrote that he had ended all ties with girlfriend number one as he could not afford to lose her.

WhatsApp chat bares it all

The CBI investigation has revealed that in order to get back the objectionable pictures, Kalyani made all efforts. However, Sippy kept lingering on the matter. Excerpts from a WhatsApp chat between Sippy and Kalyani on March 17, 2015:

Sippy - He (some person) is reaching there in 15 minutes

Sippy - Got it?

Sippy - Ask bhaiya

Sippy - Rest, I can show you at my office. It is all about trust. And lies, you know nothing affected me. These are his and your calls only

Sippy - Chalo, I don’t have any hard feelings for you. It was just about life

Sippy - Rest to clarify, I will give you the details of my number; if you find so many calls and messages in last seven years to (reference to a girl?) —- , I will do whatever you say.

Kalyani - Thank you for blowing things out of proportion, the CDs have not reached, kindly get them delivered.

Sippy - Means?

Kalyani - Please send the CDs

Sippy - Sorry, I cannot. It’s up to you, I got my answers. It was just meant for me.

Kalyani - I am done with this. Don’t look for more excuses. You have scared me and this relation. I am not here to be a bloody puppet. We are done. It’s over. Get lost.

Sippy’s girlfriend number six created fake FB account

In April 2015, on the directions of Sippy his girlfriend number six created a fake Facebook account in the name of the accused. Sippy also shared the accused’s objectionable pictures, which were uploaded on Facebook by the girlfriend number six, who also shared the screenshot of the same with him.
