Sirens in Chandigarh, blackout in Ambala

The Chandigarh administration sounded an air raid siren appealing to people to remain indoors after receiving a warning from the Air Force station of a possible attack. The administration in Ambala, which has a key IAFbase, ordered a complete blackout during night hours.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
