Dr Sharma opened up the programme with the popular “raga pahadi”. He presented “masitkhani” and “rajakhani” followed by many traditional compositions. He was accompanied by tabla maestro Ustad Akram Khan. Dr Sharma concluded the recital with a captivating folk composition based on “khayal ang”.

After this melodic presentation, Mallick Brothers took the centre stage and the duo began with “raga jog” through an elaborate “alaap” besides “badat” followed by a “bandish” set to “dhamar taal” with lyrics “Khelan aaye hori kanhaai”.
