Solo act bilingual play ‘Drama Queen’ staged at Tagore Theatre

The Narrators Theatre Ensemble in association with the Department of Tourism, Haryana, staged a solo act bilingual play, “Drama Queen”, at Tagore Theatre here today.
Written , scripted and conceptualised by protagonist lead actor Nisha Luthra, the play with intellectual content flourished well under the direction of Dr Sahib Singh.
A lawyer by profession, Nisha Luthra displayed her dexterity in theatrical art by essaying six diverse characters with conviction. In fact she had shared aspirations, ambitions, joys, sorrows and struggles of her life, which became integral part of her life’s journey.
The play was a peep in her persona and her longing for dead parents, who had done her grooming. She showcased and illustrated all her emotive feel through acting spells, dances, musical renditions and emotional expressions.
Riding high on technical virtuosity the play maintained a balanced level and showed love, humour, compassion, sacrifice, tragedies and emotions, which held the large audience in rapt attention.
However, the play needs to be rehearsed more. A live song by Dzenan Smailagic, an Irish musician, added colour to the performance.
Guests’ of honour on the occasion were Emer Davis, Head of Immigration, Embassy of Ireland, Chanakyapuri, and Lord Daljit Singh Rana, Baron of Malone, British House of Lords.
